Christmas Shop around the Corner

Noah and Zoe's choir put on an awesome program called Christmas Shop Around the Corner.Noah had a speaking part and was nervous but he did a GREAT job!! We were/are very proud of him! Zoe was the cutest thing I have ever saw! The whole choir did a stand up job!

Volunteer banquet and more

On December 11Th we had a volunteer banquet at church. It is something we look forward to every year! I mean you get free childcare, a delicious dinner and great fellowship with friends!

What more do you need?

On December 12Th Corey and I celebrated our 11Th anniversary.
After Zoe's birthday party my mother in law took the kids to her house so we could go out. I have been wanting to eat at The Cheesecake Factory so that's what we did.The closest one is in Charlotte which is about an hour drive. Oh, it was SO worth it!! The food was YUMMY!!! After dinner we went and saw "The Blind Side". I think they could be one of the BEST movies I have ever seen! We had a wonderful anniversary!

Wired

Wired is the pre-teen choir that Kain is in at church.

They are the only preteen choir in the Upstate!

A couple of Saturdays ago they had a rehearsal and a Christmas party.

After the party we all went caroling at a local assisted living facility.The residents were so excited to see and hear the kids.

On Sunday, Wired , led our worship service and did an awesome job!

I mean we have only had a anniversary, multiple Christmas programs, my birthday, Christmas parties, and my first wedding shoot!!!

Christmas Shop around the Corner

Our children's choir is one of the largest in SC! I believe we had over 80 children in this years Christmas program. We also have the best directors in SC too:) The story line was awesome too! Zoe and Noah both were in the program. Noah had a speaking part and was very nervous,but he did an awesome job! Zoe was the cutest present I have ever seen!

Zoe's Party

This year we had Zoe's birthday party at the skating rink.All of her friends were able to come and help her celebrate!

A friend of mine,Kim Hewitt, made this beautiful cake! It was delicious too!

Some how we received an American Girl catalog in the mail a few weeks back. Well ever since then Zoe has been saying she wanted the one that looks like her. I ordered it and it said it was on back order. So we thought it would have to be a Christmas present.But it was shipped out just in time for her party!

Roper Mountain

This past Thursday we took the kids to Greenville to see the lights at Roper Mountain. The last time we had been was when Kain was a baby.Seeing Christmas lights is probably one of the kids favorite things to do during the holidays.

There was a very talented elf that made these balloons! The line was pretty long but it was worth it!
{Yes,my kids look a little green but it's from no flash and the lighting..lol}

We were married 11 years ago today! I am so thankful that God threw Corey into my life. He is a wonderful husband,father and friend. He is my Prince Charming!

Hollywild Lights

Last weekend we took the kids to see the Christmas lights at Hollywild Zoo. Corey's brother,our s-i-l and our sweet nephew came with us. The lights are beautiful BUT what everyone really likes is feeding the animals. They will come right up to your window! This is one of our favorite things to do during the holidays.

This was our first Christmas as a family for 5!!! Kain was still 4,Noah was 2 and Zoe was only 5 days old!!

The Joy of Giving

We decided to join in on this fabulous reminder of what Christmas is all about!My family has made our list for the 12 Days of Giving! Heidi at Sacred and Profane started this last year and I think it is a wonderful way to give back. It shows my kids that Christmas is really about helping others and not all about themselves. So these are the 12 things my family is going to do.

1. Help serve breakfast at the local mission

2. give canned goods to the local food bank

3. they each buy a toy to donate to Toys for Tots

4. send Christmas cards to the troops

5. send a care package to Kain's pen pal which is serving in Iraq

6. give money to the Salvation Army bell ringers

7. give to the Lottie Moon Christmas fund to help keep missionaries out on the field

8. Donate 2 chickens in memory of my mom to our sponsored child {Pamela} home country through World Vision

9. Pick 2 children from the Angel Tree and buy gifts for them

10. visit the shut-ins and sing Christmas Carols

11. deliver meals to the home bound for Mobile Meals

12. let the kids bake and give it to their great grandparents

Saturday night we decorated our tree! This is my favorite time of the year even though we are SO busy! It was Zoe's turn to put the angel on top and she was very happy about that! My favorite thing to do is just sit in the dark with the tree lit and listen to Christmas music. Happy Holidays!

House Divided

Yes, sometimes a family just can not agree on certain things and this is one of those things! It's really sad that Corey and Noah have strayed to the ~~red~~ dark side but we {kain,Zoe and myself} have tried to bring them back to the ~~orange~~ bright side:)

Are you wondering what I am talking about ,yet?

Our state has a huge college football rivalry and that game was yesterday. Clemson Tigers verses the Carolina Gamecocks. Corey had to work so the kids and I went to watch it with my brother and sister- in- law.

Kain watches football more than anyone in our house.

My sweet nephew could care less about the game.Notice he isn't wearing a team shirt? Well it's because his parents haven't found a shirt with both teams on it..lol

Noah always likes to be different:)

Uncle Timmy told Zoe and Kain to show we're number 1. Well look at Zoe's fingers. Maybe she is still on the fence...lol

Now she has it right!

During half time the kids headed outside for a little ball.

What a week!

It has been so busy in the Cotheran house that I just couldn't find time to blog {gasp}! But don't worry I am gonna get you all caught up...lol.

Monday- we stayed in our pj's all day and watched movies while snuggling on the couch! We had the WHOLE week off from school!

Tuesday- well since we laid around all day Monday we { I } had a lot of cleaning to do before the Thanksgiving dinner I was hosting on Wednesday! I also made my peanut butter pie and pumpkin pie that night. And no, I didn't take a picture of it! I did not do any picture taking at all on Thanksgiving!

Wednesday- I cooked ALL day long! My side of the family was coming and I had 16 people to cook for! I cooked ham,turkey,dressing,macaroni pie,yams,mashed potatoes,deviled eggs,and rolls. Plus we had the pies I had made on Tuesday! Our dinner turned out great and we were completely stuffed:)

Thursday- We always go to Corey's granny's house for lunch on Thanksgiving and it was awesome as usual! Then we stayed at my in-laws house for the rest of the day. My s-i-l and I went shopping at a few stores since I couldn't wait for Black Friday! After dinner at the in-laws they{Corey and the kids} went home and I went to pick up Melissa to go shopping {stand in line}. So at 9:45 pm we were in line at Toys R Us,which didn't open till midnight!

Friday- we shopped and shopped and shopped some more! We had left Thursday at 9:30pm and I pulled back in my house around noon on Friday! My car was completely pull with all of those good sales! Thankfully my sweet hubby let me go to sleep:) When I woke from my 2 hour nap we took the kids to grandma's so Corey and I could do some more shopping. I think I am finally through with my Christmas shopping...lol. Now I just have to shop for birthday presents!
