Father-Daughter Dance

Our church has put on a Father-Daughter dance the past couple of years. It is probably Zoe's favorite night of the year. A few weeks leading up to the dance they take dance classes to get familiar with some the dances. The event is only offered through 6th grade so this was her last one. Thankfully I have been the photographed and get to be there to see all of the fun they have!

These keys were the girls gift for the evening.

The photo above is all of the 6th grade girls with their dads.

These girls are all great friends!

Zoe's smile makes my heart happy!

These dads are part of our village and I know they would be there for any of my kids if they needed them.

Turkey Bowl 2011

Our youth group, yes it is still hard for me to believe my baby is old enough, has a yearly tradition of having a Turkey Bowl. It’s a great way to get the youth group together for some good ole football! Everyone comes the day after Thanksgiving ready to play, and afterwards they get their grub on with left overs. This is Kain’s first year, and he BEGGED us to take him. I would have liked to stay home, but we caved. I am glad we went after all. It was a great way to see how they all interact. I pray that this group becomes Kain’s second family, and that he grows closer to God through them. Kain was the shortest out there. He was matched up against a giant with a beard or at least that is what Noah said ;)

These pictures are from a distance because how embarrassing it is for 1. your mom to be the ONLY mom at the game, and 2. she brought a camera!

Kain is on the far right.

Preteen Picnic

On Saturday we went to annual preteen picnic at the park. Yeah, that is a mouthful..lol. It’s a time for all of the preteen families( at church) to fellowship and know one another better. Corey had to work so it was just me and the kiddos. Kain stayed with his friends the whole time and played in the creek. While my other two didn’t stray too far. Zoe rode the train with her friends, and of course Kain and Noah thought they were too big for it. We all had a great time, and I am looking forward to a great year in preteen!

Centri-Kid Camp 2010

As most of you know Kain was at camp last week. I was very nervous about him going for a whole week. Would he remember to take a bath, eat, drink plenty of water, change his clothes,or put sunscreen on? He left on Monday and FINALLY called on Tuesday only because another mother had to tell him to CALL HIS MOTHER! I guess he was having too much fun to talk to his mommy:( When he called I asked was he having fun? Did you put on sunscreen? It may seems like I am a little obsessed with him putting on sunscreen, and I am! When you have fair skinned red heads they don’t tan they BURN! I mean like water blister,3rd degree burn! Of course his reply to my question was, “ I forgot to put it on today, and now I am FRIED!” See I knew he couldn’t make it a whole week without me;) I begged him to please remember to put it on!

Thursday night was family night,so Corey,Noah and myself headed to Anderson University (that is where camp was held). I was SO excited to see him,and hear all about what he was doing. He walked through the door ,ran straight over and told me how much he missed me. I know sweet, right? Too bad that was only what I hoped would happen. He didn’t want to be within 5 feet of us,or really talk to us. I am so not liking this stage where it’s not cool to “like” your parents in front of your friends! Of course I MADE him take a family picture. When we went into the room he sat one row in front of us,and during family prayer time didn’t want to be with his family. I am not going to lie when I say this “stage” hurts this mamas feelings a lot! By the end of the night he wasn’t as mortified to be seen with us!

see how red his face is! I should of got a close up of the WATER blisters on his neck and ears!

Yes, I made him take a picture with his friends at family night! I know,I am a horrible mother! Look at all those sunburned boys!

Here are some pictures that our Youth pastor took, thanks Stephen:)

This is the whole pre teen group! Kain is in the front row of all of the pictures. Or you could just look for the boy who is “fried”!

Boy, was I glad when Friday came, and I picked him up! He had a blast, and can’t wait to go back next year. I may not even be “allowed” to go to family night then…lol! As soon as he got home he fell right to sleep! I was so happy to have my baby home:)

Saddle Ridge Ranch

Last night was the kick off for VBS. This years theme is Saddle Ridge Ranch so we saw quite a few cowboys, even our pastor was on a horse! I am helping again with preschool crafts while Corey is on the recreation team. Since Kain is in preteens he is having VBX. All of the kids had a blast and are looking forward to the rest of the week.

Awana Awards

Wednesday night was our last night of Awana’s until the fall. This was Zoe’s first year as a Spark and she had so much fun! She was able to finish her first book! Way to go Zoe! Noah is in TNT and their books are harder. There was only a few to finish their book and he was the only 3rd grade boy! I am so PROUD of Noah for finishing his book! I know he had to work extra hard to complete it. They both worked really hard to remember their verses. I love how they get to learn the Word while having a great time:)

Mother/Daughter

I have been going to a bible study based on the book 5 Conversations you Must Have With Your Daughter. The ladies that led the study put together a mother/daughter luncheon on Saturday. Zoe was excited to go eat lunch with mom and her friends. The luncheon was held at a cute little ice cream shop, Southern Sisters. We enjoyed a nice lunch together and even got a few cute door prizes.

Look Up Lodge

Friday afternoon Corey and Noah headed out on the 3rd/4th grade spring retreat with our church. This was Noah’s first trip anywhere and he was so excited! I had went with Kain when he was in 3rd grade and we had so much fun. I am so happy that Corey was able to go with Noah and have this time together. Noah went down the zip line and did the big swing! Noah is still talking about all the fun they had.
