Birthday Fun

Today we celebrated my niece's 6th birthday. We seem to always stay so busy so it's nice when we can all get together. Kain was at a band cookout so we did miss him but we still had a lot of fun! 

Davidson River

Day 1 of summer break was spent relaxing on the Davidson River in Pisgah National Forest. Well first Noah had a lacrosse scrimmage but as soon as it was over we headed to Brevard,NC. After sitting out in the sun we were all ready to cool off. The water was frigid! I only stuck my toe in and decided I would wait until later in the summer. The kids jumped off the rock, floated down the river, played some lacrosse and looked at their phones. On the way out we stop at a BBQ place for dinner which was really good. It was a great way to kick off our summer break! 

Riverbank Zoo

   Sunday after church we took a trip to Riverbank Zoo in Columbia. We haven't been to that zoo in a few years and I was surprised that the kids even wanted to go. There are a lot of projects and new exhibits so it was nice to see all the new things. I just enjoyed spending time with the kids and Corey.

 We just hung out and rested while Zoe did the ropes course.

I made the kids do the picture with the statue. I have a picture from 2005 of them on it and thought it would be fun to recreate it.

Mother's Day

  On Mother's Day we went to church then headed to Dollywood since we have season passes. It was nice to spend the day with just my little family. I even managed to get a picture of just me and the boys! 

Gravitopia

     
One of the days during spring break we met up with my niece and nephews at Gravitopia . Trampolines, and foam pits are everywhere and you get a great workout. I didn't jump this time. I just watched and took a few pictures. My kids favorite thing to do is play dodge ball so it is hard to drag them out of there. You would think a hour wouldn't be enough time but after going non-stop they were ready to go. 

Spring Break Take 2

   We normally get season passes to Carowinds but wanted to try something different this year. We have only been to Dollywood once and Zoe was a baby so we were all excited to go. I actually didn't tell the kids and told them we were going hiking. None of them were happy until we pulled up at Dollywood. It was the Festival of Nations so we got to see shows and visit booths from different countries. They even managed to get me on the Wild Eagle which is a Huge rollercoaster! 

Spring Break

We decided to stay home again this spring break and just do day trips. My brother's family joined us and I brought the Laney girls. It was a little chilly with the wind but you know that never stops the kids. All of the girls were fascinated by the tons of starfish all over the beach. It was Aubrey's (my youngest niece) first trip to the beach and she wanted her toes in. The beach day trips are one my favorite things to do with the family. Just pack a cooler and head to the beach! I am pretty thankful that we only live about 3 hours from the ocean. 

 

Winter Jam '16

  Winter Jam has become a family tradition that we all love! We normally go to the Greenville concert since it is only 20 minutes away. Noah now always has lacrosse practice on Friday so we have started going to the Charlotte concert because it is on the weekend. Standing in line for 3-4 hours is part of the fun or at least it normally is unless it starts raining. My favorite band was Crowder and my guys favorite was Red. This year Zoe was invited by her friend Samantha got to go in with the early passes! 

Fireworks!

When a local church does a free firework display you pile up at your friend's house to watch the show. The kids are still sick of all of the picture taking the day before and don't want to corporate but you take the picture anyway. 

4th of July

   I have said it before and I will say it again, I absolutely love that my kids get to grow up surrounded by our village. I didn't have that and it is just priceless to me. I know that no matter what paths they all take that they will always be there for one another when needed. My kids always look forward to holidays at Ms.Tracy's with their friends. I look forward to it too!
