Cruise wrap up

It's kinda funny that I am writing the ending of this tropical vacation with the snow falling outside my window:)

The last full day of the cruise we just hung out and sat in on a few classes.

The first was a towel folding class.You know those cute animals that they make and put on your bed? Well, you too can learn how to do that..lol.Well most people can,but as you can see from the confusion on my face,I was having issues.

A few of us girls took a line dancing class.Not sure I will be doing that anytime soon:)

Then we sat on the boat deck and just gazed out at the beautiful water.

If you knew how to play chess they had a huge set.

OK,now this is Erwin with Corey. He found Corey the first day of the cruise.Erwin was mesmerized with Corey's red goatee.He even asked if Corey painted it. Everyday when we saw Erwin he would stop what he was doing to come and shake Corey's hand.They were great friends by the end of the cruise:)

On the last night they had a deck party and we decided to check it out.

Yes, this is the conga line and we are in the front! It was really fun seeing all my friends dancing,even Corey got in on the action.We did the Electric Slide,Cha Cha and the Cupid Shuffle (my personal favorite).

After the dancing was finished they had a midnight Mexican buffet.I was too hot to eat from all that dancing but I did take one picture. This was made out of watermelon and a few other fruits.

Despite the rocky start we had a FABULOUS time!!I loved spending time with Corey and our wonderful friends.Can't wait to see where we vacation (kid free) next year,but I am pretty sure it won't be a cruise...lol!

Day 4~ Updated:)

Welcome to Cozumel, Mexico!!!

We were already standing in line at 7:30am to get off the boat, but of course there was another short delay.When we finally got off it was just beautiful!The water was so clear you could see the fish swimming around.

We finally were able to get a group picture!!!

I also caught them raising the Mexican flag.

We wanted to do a little shopping before we went on our excursion.I have to say I was a little disappointed in the shopping.I had imagined these beautiful open aired markets with handmade stuff.You know "real" Mexican stuff.It kinda reminded me of the beach.You know you go into all those stores and they have the same cheap stuff but different prices?Well,that's what I thought about the shopping in Cozumel.We didn't really go too far back into the city, so maybe that's where all the good stuff was.

We had wanted to go and lay out on the beach.So we found an excursion to Playa Mia.It included a Mexican buffet {that did not have 1 Mexican dish on it.I mean, they had chicken nuggets and mac n cheese}, bottled water,sodas and use of the water toys.The water was a little chilly but it felt good afterward.

Now seriously, would you get a Tattoo in a place that looked like this?

We heard stories of people missing the boat and wanted to see if it really happens.So we went to the top deck to check it out.They had told us to be back on the boat at 5:30 but we were not leaving till 6.Well of course we got on EARLY. I was not about to get left in Mexico. It was about 5:50 and they started untying the boat ,and guess what? We see a couple coming through customs,which is still a little bit away.Once they got on the pier they were running as fast as they could while all of us on the boat were yelling "Run"!!!! Talk about cutting it close!

Day 3

Finally, day 3 was the vacation we all wanted!!When we woke up it was warm and everyone was feeling a lot better.After breakfast we headed to the top deck to get some sun.

Well everyone but Corey wanted sun..lol.Red heads and sun do not go well together:)

It didn't look like a ghost ship anymore!

We went to this Newlywed game in the Universal Lounge. They chose the couple that had been married the longest and shortest.For the couples that had been married between 10-30 years we had to show we still had love for each other.Well Corey gave me a short kiss and ran off,not wanting to be chosen. The other two were REALLY into it..lol.

Day 2

Even though I hadn't went to bed until 3am I was up again at 7. I was ready to explore the ship and really start our paradise vacation. I really didn't even have to stand to get out of the bed,I practically rolled out of it.Have you ever had to shower while holding on to a handle just so you wouldn't fall out?Well that morning I did.That ship was rocking so hard you couldn't even walk without running into the wall.Then before I knew it I was sick as a dog.Yep,the girl that has NEVER gotten sick on anything in her life was seasick! All I could think was this is not happening to me. Come to find out 7 out of our 10 wasn't feeling too hot.I tried going upstairs for a little while but that didn't last long.I ended up going back to bed and sleeping for a few hours.It felt like we were on a never ending roller coaster.

I went to play Bingo but I just sat there.

With 52% of the people on board sick they started passing out these doggie bags....gross!!People were vomiting in the hallways,and down the stairs.It was not a pretty site at all.

It did feel a little better when the air was hitting your face.It was windy, and cold not the tropical vacation I had imagined!

Of course my stomach of steel hubby never got sick once and never used any medications!Rhonda was the smart one of the bunch and had gotten a patch that work wonders!

Of course they would plan the Captain's Dinner that very night with everyone feeling bad.We all tried to make it through it but some were still feeling too bad.Since I did not go to the prom we all kidded and said this was my prom:)

Poor Summer M just couldn't make it through dinner.

After dinner we headed over to the karaoke lounge.For some reason they all wanted me to sing ,but I wasn't getting up there without them..lol

For me, the night ended much better than it had started.

Day 1

The day had finally come for us to head off on our kid-free cruise.We had been counting down for weeks .We all met up at 3:30am on Saturday .We wanted to get an early start so we wouldn't get caught in traffic, and miss the boat.Oh, if we only knew!

Welcome to Alabama

We finally arrive in Mobile around 11:30 which was great since we could start boarding at noon.When we were pulling up to the parking garage there was a lady handing out papers.Well the guys drove right past her thinking she was selling something.I rolled the window down and heard "The ship has not arrived and we are not sure when it is." What?? We were then directed to the Civic Center which would become our home for 12 hours. Yes, you read it right..12 LONG hours. After we got to the civic center we checked in and were told to go get some lunch and come back at 3pm. Well we did as we were told and went to eat. Little did we know that eating would be the theme of our vacation..lol.

We found a pizza place that was very good. Oh, did I forget to mention we were walking in the rain? And it was cold too!

We got back at the Civic center to be told they still didn't know when the ship would arrive. The boat was not able to get into the channel and then after it did enter it takes 3 hours to get to the port.Then you have to wait for the people that are on the cruise to disembark and the crew to get ready for us.

So instead of sailing the beautiful seas our first day of vacation we did this...

Finally around 1 am we were on the board and headed straight for the buffet since we hadn't eaten in hours.

I would love to say the next day was better but for some of us it wasn't.There will be more on that tomorrow.
