3rd Grade Awards

I am so thankful that I was able to go to Zoe’s year end awards day. She had a great year thanks to her AWESOME teacher! We sure will miss the elementary school next year. This school only goes through third grade then you move up to the intermediate school. We have had a fantastic experience at BSES.

8th Grade Graduation

Did I really just write 8th grade graduation? I can not believe that my first born will be in high school come August. I really didn’t cry when he started k-5 but I am here to tell you the tears are going to flow when I drop him off. Everyone always tells you to enjoy the moments because time flies by. Well I can now say that it really true. It was just yesterday that he came home from 4k and told me he had no friends. Of course I cried and thought about taking him out but come to find out all the kids were just a little shy. He made friends and all was well with the world again.

Anyway, his school had a commencement ceremony and as I watched them all walk across the stage I flashed forward 4 short years. I start to panic at the thought of only having 4 more years until he leaves home, 4 more summer vacations, 4 more years until he is an adult. I catch myself praying all the time for the Lord to help me cherish these next 4 years.

Memorial Day Weekend

We stayed in town this Memorial Day because we actually had to go back to school for the rest of the week. We normally get out the Friday before for summer break. We met up with our friends Friday night at a local park and had a pizza picnic while the kids played. When it was nearly dark we packed up and headed for ice cream. On Saturday I had a wedding to shoot and the rest of the family went to my niece’s birthday party. I was trying to think what we did on Sunday but I can’t remember. I guess we may have stayed at home. Monday we went over to another one of our great friends to cook out and swim. Half the time the boys stay out of the water playing basketball. The water was still really chilly so I didn’t get in.  We had a great time and lots of yummy food!

This time they were playing volleyball without a net.

We had not been there 15 minutes when Noah slid his leg across the diving board taking most of his knee with it.

Midweek at the Mill

Our Wednesday night service at church is called Midweek at the Mill. The church has a rather long name, Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church, so to shorten it we all just call it The Mill. We follow the school calendar for our midweek service and since school is almost over so will be Wednesday services. To celebrate the beginning of summer the church provided a family cookout and rented inflatables. My boys were across the street with the youth and would not let me take a picture of them.

Zoe has been with Ms. Sandy & Mr. Harlem since 5-k. They have either been her SS or Midweek teachers every year. They are soooo awesome with “their” girls and the girls just adore both of them!

Field Day 2013

I always enjoy going to field day at the kids schools. This year was bittersweet for Zoe, it is her last year at the elementary school. After 3rd grade you move on up to the intermediate school. We have new P.E. teachers this year and did a different way of doing field day. We did stations where they played games from all around the world. The kids really seemed to enjoy it and I had a great time spending the day with her. I know it won’t be long before she doesn’t want me to come to the school for anything so I will cherish these days while I have them.
