Red,White and Blue

The holiday spirit was in the air Sunday with everyone’s campers and golf carts decorated. Of course I bought stuff to decorate, but left it at home. I cooked pancakes for breakfast and they were yummy. After we got cleaned up we went to a worship service led by the youth group that is here. This is the same group from downtown yesterday. It was a really great service!

The kids swam all afternoon and there was even a pool party. They played corn hole, limbo, hula hoop contest and so much more. We finally made it back to the camper for dinner and a little rest before the HUGE block party that evening. That same youth group hosted this main event. Everything was free and of course that's what brought everyone in . The kids filled up on all that free carnival food, but my favorite was the skits. They were so bold, but really spoke the truth! They were AWESOME! To end the night the kids did a little night swimming.

( This is the Jumping Pillow. It is a mix of a trampoline and a bounce house. The said it was GREAT! )

This was a great skit preformed to a Casting Crowns song. It was talking about “setting me free from these chains”. I can’t think of the song title, but it was very good.

Super Saturday

I was the first one up on Saturday. I was very surprised when I looked at my phone and it said 9am! On another note, I have NO cell phone service here. It’s not like we are across the country (even though it did work last summer in South Dakota) or something. We are only 2 hours from home in NC! Anyway, getting back to our Saturday. The recreation team here at the campground had tons of stuff planned since it the weekend of the 4Th.

They made patriot bracelets.

July 3

They played a life size game of chess.

Collages3

This was the first time any of us had made tie dyed t-shirts. They kids had a blast and got some cool designs!

Collages5

In between each activity the kids would jump in the pool

to cool off.

July 35

We would never miss an ice cream social:)

Collages6

They took part in the KOA ducky derby. Guess who won first place? Madison!!! She won a wristband that gave her free admission to the jump pillow (you can see that tomorrow) and putt putt!!

July 31

Later in the evening we rode into downtown. There happen to be a free block party put on by the youth from Rome,GA. It was a great way to reach people and spread the Good News.

July 32

These are just some random shots from the day. I will say that homemade cinnamon roll was the best I have EVER had!

July 34

Our last activity of the night was a flash light candy hunt. It is fun,but really what parent wants their kids to have candy at 9:30?

Is it time for bed yet? I am beat!

Cherokee or Bust

We had planned on leaving around 11,but of course it was more like 1 when we left. We finally made it to Cherokee in a little under 3 hours, but it felt close to 6 hours. After we got set up we went to check out the pool. The kids LOVED the slide. It was pretty entertaining watching the people “fly” out of it. I of course was not going to be one of those people even though my kids begged and pleaded. That evening they had a dance party that only a few of us participated in . Since the others didn’t want to dance they played a few games in the arcade. Around 9 we remembered we needed to have supper and sausage dogs were on the menu…yummy!

( Since I have so many pictures that I want to share I am going to do collages! I have recently figured out how to make them and yes,I am addicted!)
