Beautiful You Portrait Party

Remember me telling you about the fundraiser I went to on Saturday? Well Elaine posted last night,and I LOVE it!!! I have not really liked but one or two pictures I have ever taken,but I love this one. This defiantly isn’t my everyday mom look,but that’s what I like about it :)

Being in Front

Everyone knows that I am not a fan of getting my picture taken. But I am all up for helping someone out even if it means getting in front of the camera. I have NEVER had a portrait by myself taken by a professional . I have only had my portrait taken 3 times…when we got married ( no individual ones), when Kain was a baby,and after we had Noah. I always have someone to block,and cover me.

My friend Elaine is an AWESOME photographer,and she was having a fundraiser to help someone go to Haiti. It was a Beautiful You Portrait Party. It sounded fun, she can work miracles with a camera,and it was helping someone go spread the gospel. I just had to do it since Elaine, and many many others have supported my trips. I had thought about canceling today,and just sending money because I was dreading getting in front of the camera. Then I got a text from Elaine saying she couldn’t wait to see me. So now I had to go!

When I arrived someone did my make up, and straightened my hair.We were told to wear a long sleeve black shirt,and it would basically be from the chest up. Then it was time to head downstairs to get shot ( it might as well been a gun the way I was feeling). I have never understood why people get so nervous when I take their pictures. Well I figured it out tonight! I thought I was going to throw up! I ended up having a blast,and I know she got an awesome shot! Now I have to wait to see the final result.

I am going to give Corey one of the pictures for our anniversary. Hope he likes it :)

Wordless Wednesday~ A First for Me

I know this is suppose to be wordless but I have to give you a little info:) Yes, I have made a cake before but I have ALWAYS used a box. I saw this recipe over at Lynn's Kitchen Adventures and just had to try it! Good gravy, I make a mess when I bake! I had flour and cocoa all over the place. But I think it turned out pretty good! My Valentine

Corey was off on Monday for President's Day so he took me to work that day. Little did I know he had a wonderful day planned.He picked me up from work and we went to Olive Garden for a delicious lunch.

After lunch we went to see Dear John. Let me just say I was sooo disappointment in this movie! The book is one of my all time favs and the movie just didn't do it for me.They changed things all around,added some stuff and it was just too drawn out! But oh well, at least I was spending time with my hubby!

Then we went and did some shopping before getting my car worked on.On the way home we stopped at Carrabba's for dessert!

This is the Chocolate Dream and it is so YUMMY!!!

Last night Zoe and I had a girls night out. We went to Evangel Cathedral and saw Casting Crowns with Matt Redman!! Zoe was super excited about seeing them since she sings their songs all the time. I let her pick where she wanted to eat and of course she picked Zaxby's. Then we headed on over to get in line,and that was the part she did not like. She didn't understand why you had to wait in line! After we finally got in and found a really good seat she was happy. She asked "Is it gonna be real people?" I wish I would have got a picture of her face when they came on stage! She was just amazed..lol. It was an awesome time,we sang,she danced and we worshiped the Lord together!

Zoe fell asleep about 10pm and slept through the rest of the concert. She must be a hard sleeper because it was LOUD!!!

Corn Maze

What makes a fun fall date night?


1. a few friends


2. a huge corn maze


3. some friendly competition


We wanted to have a fun date night so we decided to go to a local corn maze. It was the women against the men.

You were suppose to answer trivia questions, and depending on your answer you would either go right or left. Now I don't know about your husband, but mine has gotten us lost{oh excuse me, it's called an adventure}} before. So I was wasn't too worried about his {their} sense of direction.

It was a hard maze, and long too. Even though the rules clearly said "no running" we ran a good part of the way. Their was no way we were gonna let the guys win! We would never hear the end of it if they did.

Well we came out, and we didn't see them!! Yippee we won!!! Wait, is that them walking from behind the building? Yep it sure was! I still believe something sneaky went on because they hadn't even broke a sweat and they were eating a snack! But either way we had fun even if we let them win;)

Catching up

I am really liking my job! The kids are great and the teachers are awesome!

Zoe started another year of dance.This time she's doing a tap/jazz class.She decided ballet didn't have enough movement for her..lol.

Kain and Noah are doing karate and seem to like it so far. I mean really what boy wouldn't like fighting..lol?

Corey and I have been going to the gym and yesterday I did 3 miles on the treadmill! Kinda proud of myself:)

The reason we started the gym {besides getting healthy} is because we booked a cruise in January! We are going with 4 other couples and NO kiddos:) I can't wait it is gonna be so much fun.

So that's what I have been up too. I really have to start blogging more but it seems like I don't have enough hours in the day.

I got a J-O-B!!!

Yes, you read it right I am now a working woman..lol. Well maybe a part time working woman.But I have not worked in about 9 years well at least got paid for it{we all know a mom's job is 24/7}. I am going to be an assistant teacher at The Early Learning Center which is in our church. I am so excited to start this new adventure. I figured I needed to do something since all of my kids are in school now:)

It's fun to be a kid!

We spent our Saturday acting like we were kids again.Boy was it fun! We were celebrating Zachary's birthday at the Harrison's. Kain and Corey were at a different birthday party but joined us later for a cookout.Thanks Brad for cooking some delicious wings.We{the kids} stayed in the almost 6 hours...lol. Us adults decided we were gonna get in and have a good ole time too!

Upwards Awards

Last night we had the awards program for Upward soccer. Boy was it loud in the sanctuary! We had over 300 kids on 40 teams this year. Upwards is a great outreach program and I am happy to be a part of it. I had a awesome team this year and my assistant{ Summer Laney} was the best:) So it's official..soccer is over.
